Prayer: Your Most Powerful Weapon

Prayer: Your Most Powerful Weapon

God is waiting to hear from you

Prayer is the most effective way to communicate with our heavenly Father. And he wants us to talk to him often. It is his deep desire for us, his children to come to him, not timidly or ashamedly , not unsure or haphazardly, but boldly as if we have every right to speak before him—and of course we do! And he wants to talk to us.

Therefore let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our times of need. (Heb. 4:16, KJV)

The Power of faith-filled prayer

The prayer of faith is a force so powerful it can render changes in the physical world that can baffle and confound even the wisest of us.

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. (Mk. 11:23, NIV)

When we pray in faith, you release the same power that raised Jesus out of a grave. When we pray in faith—you have an immediate connection to the throne of grace. When we pray, in faith, according to the will of God, heaven is alerted.  Our connection to God becomes as real and as tangible as that of the woman with the issue of blood. Her touch to the garment of Jesus by faith released a power so significant, it instantly stopped Jesus the Christ as hundreds possibly thousand pressed in on him to be seen, heard, delivered. Our healing may not always be instant as hers was, but faith puts the power of God into action, he becomes on one accord with our petition, and therefore, just know that he not only hears our prayers, but we will receive what we ask for.

And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. (I John 5:15, NLT)

Too often, the enemy bullies us into believing that are prayers are trite, trivial and unimportant; God’s too busy saving countries from famines and tsunamis and other natural disasters to hear from us. At least, this is what the enemy wants us to believe. But this lie has been costing Christians victories and often their lives, for many years now. You see, we know this is a lie because too often in scripture God urges, compels us to pray. At one point he tells us to pray and don’t stop! Yeah, it’s pretty important if he wants us to do it all of the time.

To be sure there are certain answers we won’t receive until we talk to God. We will dance around the same problem, work the same failing solution until we pray. God is waiting. He wants us to ask, to seek, to reach out to him. He wants a relationship with us. Relationship means that we know Him. We seek and obey his will. We know and respond to His voice and recognize when he is responding to ours. He wants to hear from us.

When we realize the power of our prayer, not only will we do it more often, but we will look forward to the times we can just sit and talk with our Father. That dialogue alone can bring us peace and keep us from making hasty, foolish decisions. Time with the Father is truly the most well spent time of the day.
